What is your business?
Clued Male Grooming. I started trading on 1st February 2008.
Why did you start it?
I started the business to work for myself and to do it better than anyone else.
What did you do before it?
I have worked as a barber beforehand, and as a printer!
What makes you unique?
What makes Clued unique, is that we are the only male grooming salon in the city where men can come and basically be groomed from head to toe under one roof. The business is based over 3 floors on County Road, Walton just a 2 minute walk from Everton Football Club stadium, this means we can offer a service you would normally expect in the city centre but at local competitive prices.
What are your plans to make the most of Capital of Culture?
For the capital of culture year I am trying to get to as many events as possible and would welcome any calls for ourselves to get involved.
Any tips?
My tips would be to listen to your family, friends and customers because they are usually right.
Also, find out what local business support is available to you. I have been working with Enable, which is a free enterprise project for businesses in the North of Liverpool.
